Is use of the waterparks included with my stay?
Yes- the waterparks are for each registered guest (not to exceed your rooms maximum occupancy). Your wristbands for admission are valid from the time you check-in until the waterparks close on the day of check-out.
Is The Wilderness open to the public?
Our waterparks, dry play parks and miniature golf courses are reserved exclusively for resort guests*; however, Wild Rock Golf Course, The Woods Family Golf Course and the Canyon Zip Line are open to public play.
*Our overnight resort guests include patrons residing within the Wilderness Territory® as well as a limited number of other accommodations with which the Territory has business arrangements.
What are the prices for attractions and is there a package deal?
Wilderness attractions like 3D black light mini golf, bumper boats and laser tag can be purchased individually (view attractions and pricing) or you can purchase a Wild Fun Pass that includes all of these attractions for a lower price than if they were bought separately: NEW Northern Lights Sky Ropes Course, Wild Abyss Mini Golf, Wild Buccaneer Mini Golf, Laser Tag, Bumper Boats, Haunted House and Mirror Maze.
Do we bring towels to the waterparks?
No. Pool towels are available at all waterparks. Please do not remove guest towels from the rooms.
Are there locker rooms?
Locker rooms are located in the Wild West, Klondike Kavern and Wild WaterDome Indoor Waterparks. Each locker room is equipped with bathrooms, showers and most offer coin operated lockers.
Are pets allowed at any of the Wilderness Territory properties?
Sorry, but pets are not allowed in the resort or any of the resort's ancillary units. However, Pet Retreat would be happy to pamper your pets during your stay. Contact them directly at (608) 253-6000 for more information.
How old do I have to be to rent a room?
You must be at least 18 years of age to reserve and/or check into a room. All guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Government issued identification may be required at check-in for all occupants.
Do you accept checks?
Checks are only accepted as an advance deposit 30 days prior to the reservations date. A valid credit card and ID must be presented at check-in.
How early can I Check-In?
Rooms are not guaranteed to be ready until after 4pm. However, Guests may register as early as 11am on their day of arrival and receive wristbands to our waterparks. We will be getting rooms ready while you enjoy our amenities!
What is the Resort Fee?
A resort fee is a mandatory daily fee of $9.95 to cover the costs associated with providing the highest level of service for our guests. Included in this fee: daily guest newspapers, Wilderness Shuttle service, pool towel service, resort wide "green" initiatives (recycling, earth-friendly chemicals), use of fitness centers, in-room coffee, daily kid's activities, Wilderland Park and Movie area (seasonal), Wi-Fi (hotel rooms & lobbies, Glacier Canyon Lodge and Wilderness on the Lake rooms and conference center) discount coupon book for local attractions and more. Housekeeping gratuities are not included in this fee and are at the discretion of our guests.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes wireless internet access is included with your stay as an amenity covered in the daily resort fee. It is available in our main Hotel, Glacier Canyon Lodge & Wilderness on the Lake units as well as our lobbies.
What is your cancellation policy/handing fee? WILDERNESS HOTEL & GLACIER CANYON LODGE From the time you make your reservation, up until 72 hours (3 days) prior to your scheduled date of arrival, there will be a $20.00 handling fee, should you need to cancel. Should you cancel within 72 hours prior to your date of arrival you will forfeit your full deposit.
WILDERNESS VILLAS, CONDOS, CABINS & RETREATS From the time you make your reservation, up until 14 days (2 weeks) prior to your scheduled date of arrival, there will be a $30.00 handling fee, should you need to cancel. Should you cancel within 14 days prior to your date of arrival you will forfeit your full deposit.
Where is the Buffet Restaurant?
The Wild Canyon Café is located in the New Frontier Region near the Guest Services Desk. The buffet is available for breakfast and dinner during the summer and during peak periods. Call extension 4653 or check the lobby marquee for hours of operation.
Where do I Park/Is there a Charge?
As a guest of the resort, there is no additional charge for parking. At check-in parking passes will be issued. Guests are asked to park in the parking lot of the resort/lodge they are staying at, to ensure parking is available for everyone. Shuttle buses can transport guests to the other resorts in Wilderness Territory.
Where can I get Groceries?
O.P.'s Marketplace, adjacent to the Wild West Lobby, Trapper's Outpost, adjacent to the Wilderness on the Lake Lobby and The Bean Bodega, located on Level 4 of Glacier Canyon Lodge all offer basic groceries and sundries.
How do I get a Shuttle Bus?
Dial "0" from phones at entrances. Shuttles can be taken to or from anywhere in Wilderness Territory including Wild Rock Golf Club, Monks, Field’s Steakhouse & Sarento’s. During peak times there may be a longer than normal wait for shuttle buses.
Where are the Ice & Vending Machines?
Ice and vending machines are located at most floor foyers. Look for signs on each level to find the exact locations at your resort. Please use the ice buckets provided in your room.
Do you have a Fitness Center at your resort?
Yes- The Wilderness Territory has a fitness center located at each of our properties. Our fitness centers are equipped with treadmills, elipticals, exercise bikes & a universal gym.
What should I do in Case of Emergency?
In case of emergency dial 9-1-1 or dial "0" for Guest Services.
Do you offer Discount Tickets to other Dells Attractions?
Yes. Inquire at any of the front desks for more information on our partner attractions. Some attractions offer free tickets for kids!
Where is the Conference Center located?
The Glacier Canyon Conference center is attached to Glacier Canyon Lodge off Hillman Road.
What if I need to send a Fax or make Copies of documents?
For a nominal fee, guests can make copies and send or receive faxes. Just stop at any of the Guest Services desks or dial "0" for details.
How do you check Voice Mail when staying at the resort?
Dial #1 and follow the voice prompts.
Where can I watch the Game?
Survivor's Bar and Grille in the Wild WaterDome and The Thirsty Buffalo Saloon in the Wild West Waterpark both have numerous TVs available to view sports games.
How and when do I Check-Out of the hotel room?
There is no need to go to the Guest Services Desk to check out, unless you have a balance due. Simply leave all hotel key cards in the room. Guests can continue to use the waterparks all day on their departure day. However, guests must vacate their rooms by 11 a.m. Late check-outs may incur fees (up to one night's charge).
How much is the required Security Deposit when renting Condos/Cabins/Retreats?
For guests renting our 4 Bedroom Cabin or Retreat, 5 Bedroom Retreat, 5 Bedroom Media Cabin or 5 Bedroom Entertainment Cabin, there is a mandatory deposit of not less than $1000.00 which is required at the time of check-in.
Do Children stay free?/What do you consider a child?
Children ages 2 & under stay free and do not need to be counted in the total number of guests occupying that unit.
- Guests ages 18 & up should be counted and included in the total as an Adult.
- Guests ages 3-17 should be counted and included in the total as a Child.
Can I bring my own grill? Do you have grills available to use?
Due to the high risk of fire, use of your own grill is prohibited on Wilderness property.
- We have a limited number of permanent grills in WilderLand Park Activity Area, near Villa # 101 and by Glacier Canyon Lodge, near the walking trail entrance. (Bring your own charcoal.)
- A limited number of grills are also available at Wilderness on the Lake just off the pool decks.
- All Cabins & Retreats have their own grills on their decks.
